The History of Memorial Park
Memorial Park was made in 1923. Sunken Gardens is a place where people can
go on a picnic or have long walks and appreciate the time that they spent at
Memorial Park. You can take your children to Memorial Park's playground and
spend time with them. If you are in need of family pictures you could have
pictures taken by the pond, or you can have pictures throughout the trail.

Sunken Gardens Sunken Gardens was dedicated to Huntington, Indiana in 1924. It took a lot of time. Lack of money caused the gardens to loose their luster. The city has a tilling plan to restore the gardens to their once magnificent glory. Sunken Gardens is a beautiful place to throw parties and have a wonderland wedding. Sunken Gardens covers one and a half of Memorial Park, it was once the stone quarry. It used to be called "The Lime Stone Quarries" that were a big part of Huntington when it was called Lime City. The quarry that had became the Sunken Gardens used to be filled with water and was known as the final destination.

Main Pavilion The main pavilion (below) does not have much history, but more of a legend. In this legend it says that this pavilion is made from the limestone quarry near by. However, we all know where this limestone quarr is, but don't realize we know. This limestone quarry is located in Sunken Gardens. Which means, that the limestone quarry is Sunken Gardens.
